Listed on SpamCop? How to get delisted

bl.spamcop.net

What a listing means

SpamCop lists IPs reported by its users as sending spam, weighted by recent report volume.

How removal works

Listings expire automatically once reports stop, typically within about a day. Fix the source; there is no manual delisting to buy.

SpamCop lookup / removal

Before you request removal

  1. Confirm the listing with ProbeKit’s blacklist check and note every list that shows the IP or domain.
  2. Find the cause: compromised mailbox passwords, malware on a device, an open relay or open proxy, a misbehaving web form, or sending to purchased or stale lists.
  3. Fix it, and make sure the IP has a proper reverse DNS (PTR) name and that SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass for your mail.
  4. Use the list operator’s removal process. Requesting removal before fixing the cause usually gets the IP relisted.
  5. Re-check after a day, and add a blacklist monitor so you hear about the next listing before your users do.
