What’s new

Changes to ProbeKit, newest first.

  1. Bounce codes, a status page, renewals, and an app for your phone

    • A bounce code library (/bounce): SMTP reply codes, enhanced status codes, and common bounces from Microsoft, Gmail, Yahoo, and other providers, each with what it means, the likely causes, and the fix.
    • ProbeKit’s own status page (/status): the website, API, monitoring, DMARC ingestion, and mail, checked every minute, with 90 days of history and any incidents.
    • Dashboard → Renewals: every domain and certificate expiry you watch in one calendar, soonest first, with reminders at 60, 30, 14, and 7 days, and a CSV export (Pro and MSP).
    • Install ProbeKit on your phone or desktop from the browser, like an app.
    • A short tour of the dashboard the first time you sign in, and a clear next step on every empty list.
    • The Email Header Analyzer now explains how to copy the full headers in Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail, and what it shows you.
    • Every tool page starts with a two-sentence explanation of what the tool does and when to use it.
  2. For MSPs: client import, PSA tickets, reports you can show

    • A page for MSPs (/msp) with the per-client math, a sample white-label client report and a live demo status page.
    • Clients → Import: upload a CSV of clients and domains, see what will happen to every row, then create them in one go.
    • “Monitor everything” on a client sets up Domain Health, DMARC, SPF, DKIM, blacklist, certificate and DNS-change monitors for each of its domains.
    • The client page shows domains, monitors, open incidents, DMARC, the status page and the report schedule together.
    • Autotask and ConnectWise Manage: a ticket per incident, a note when it’s acknowledged, closed when it clears (MSP plan).
    • The MSP plan now has a 14-day free trial, like Pro.
    • Referral links: whoever signs up through yours gets a 30-day trial; you get a month free when they first pay.
    • Status pages show a small “Monitored by ProbeKit” badge (optional on MSP).
    • Comparison pages for dmarcian, EasyDMARC, DNSChecker and Hardenize.
  3. Watch your domains, share results, see the trend

    • Pick alert channels on the monitor form itself, and add an email, Slack, Teams, Discord, PagerDuty or webhook channel without leaving it.
    • When a monitor finds something real (a certificate about to expire, a new blacklist listing, SPF or DMARC broken, a DKIM key gone, a DNS change, a domain about to lapse, a site down) owners and admins get a short email with the fix. At most one a day per monitor.
    • “Monitor everything on this page” under Domain Health adds the monitors that domain doesn’t have yet, within your plan.
    • Share any result as a public link (not indexed, 90 days, you can turn it off).
    • Monitor pages show uptime and response time (median and p95) or status over 7, 30 and 90 days, with incidents marked.
    • The dashboard groups monitors by domain (and by client on MSP); every row, status and history dot links to the monitor, and “This was me” acknowledges a change you made.
    • Domain Health weighs blacklists: a minor list on your mail provider’s server is a warning, not a failure.
  4. Smart search, passkeys, status pages and Explain & Fix

    • One smart search box on the home page, dashboard and header: type a domain, IP, email or URL and pick a check. Press / to focus it.
    • Paste a bounce anywhere you search and Diagnose opens with it.
    • Domain fields remember your recent entries, on this device or across devices when you’re signed in.
    • Every result now suggests the next checks to run, and you can save or export it.
    • Works properly on phones: a menu, card layouts for tables and a Run button that stays in reach.
    • Sign in with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a security key). Forgot-password links now expire after 30 minutes and work once.
    • New monitors: ping, TCP port, SMTP + STARTTLS, DKIM selector, MTA-STS + TLS-RPT, nameserver consistency, security headers and a daily Domain Health score. Certificate monitors now also catch chain and TLS changes.
    • Public status pages for your domains or clients, branded on MSP.
    • “Explain & Fix” turns any result into a verdict, the impact and the exact records to paste (where AI is enabled).
    • Plans page with monthly and annual prices and a full comparison; usage meters in Account.
    • New pages: how to get delisted from each blocklist, SPF/DKIM/DMARC setup for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and ProbeKit vs MxToolbox.
    • Fixed: the site header could disappear in Safari 26.
  5. Diagnose

    • Paste a bounce, NDR or SMTP error and get the cause and fix instantly, plus 22 guides for the most common errors.
  6. Monitoring, DMARC reports and the API

    • Monitors with email, webhook, Slack, Teams, Discord and PagerDuty alerts.
    • Hosted DMARC aggregate report ingestion with dashboards.
    • A REST API with an OpenAPI spec, and the weekly digest.
